STAGE 1 2020

The Giro d’Italia Under 23, the challenge and showcase for Italian and International cycling talents is also an opportunity to promote the territory and the culture of the places that will be crossed, a loudspeaker to broadcast the restart and the essence of being Italian, even more so in this year 2020.

The Giro U23 begins in Urbino in Marche to celebrate the culture and history of our Nation for the 500th  anniversary of Raffaello Sanzio’s death, one of the greatest artists of all time, a renaissance painter born right in Urbino and a symbol of youth’s power of expression, conveying the same energy found in the Under 23 riders in the race.

It is a 150.5 km stage, with an altitude gap of 1,300 metres, which takes place on a 40 km. hilly loop including the Gualdi climb (cat 3 KOM, 458 m.a.s.l.) to be covered four times. The last KOM is 9 km. away from the finish line
