Stage 8: Venchiarutti’s sprint in Rosà-Falcade makes for the second Italian victory

After a long breakaway, Nicola Venchiarutti sprints to victory, making this the second Italian win at the Giro d’Italia Under 23, over Hungarian Peak and Italian Tosin, who took second and third place respectively. Scaroni comes fifth, allowing him to rise to rank fifth in the General Classification. Colombian Andres Camilo Ardila retains the Enel Maglia Rosa once again.
Tomorrow, Sunday the 23rd June, the ninth and final stage will take place, from Agordo to the peak of the Fedaia Pass (2,057m of altitude). Though only 39.9km, this stage is crucial for the final classification of the Enel Giro d’Italia Under 23.
