The Tuscan fourth stage of the Giro d’Italia U23 from Buonconvento (Si) to Monte Amiata (Si), radically changes the rankings: Andres Camilo Ardila (Seleccion Colombia) wins today’s stage and takes his turn to wear the Enel maglia rosa, overtaking Verschaeve, the leader of a long, solo breakaway, a mere 400 metres from the finish line. Alessandro Covi was the first Italian to cross the finish line coming fourth, but managing to take 2nd place in the general rankings.
After tomorrow’s rest day, the Giro d’Italia Under 23 will resume on Wednesday 19th June, with the fifth stage taking place between Sorbolo Mezzani and Passo Maniva, the second finishing destination at altitude.
